Created and Sustained by the Breath of Life, Earthly and Eternal

When I think back to the first time I held each of my children, I was taken by two questionable aspects of their existence, which did not include counting fingers or toes. Were they breathing yet and whose image will they most likely bear, mine or my husband's? Since then, I have come to realize that both of
these aspects hold a much deeper meaning than what I originally thought.

When I consider God, creator of the universe and everything in it, I am taken hostage by the thought that unlike me, He had no questions about any aspect of His children because He formed them. He formed them in His mind and in His image before the foundation of the world and before they were ever conceived by earthly parents. He breathed the breath of life, both the earthly and eternal life He intended for them, and placed them in history (His story) according to His time table. In human terms, this aspect of God's sovereignty over man is simply unfathomable and so I stand amazed.

Psalm 139:13 "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's
womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous
are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden
from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts
of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your
book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were
none of them."

The Aha Moment

I want to introduce the topic of Pearls of Truth, which is based upon the parable
in Matthew 13:45-46.

45"Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly
pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all
that he had and bought it."

When I think back to the "Aha" moments in my life, it is usually a reflection on
something God seared into my heart, a truth that became so clear to me that I
forsook any previous teaching on the particular topic to embrace that which had
become so evident. These "Aha" moments are known to me as "Pearls of Truth,"
truths for which I personally sold out.
